Bangladesh News | Former Captain Mashrafe Murtaza’s House Was Set on Fire
During the ongoing protests and riots in Bangladesh, the Former captain Mashrafe Murtaza;s house has been set on fire.
According to a report in the Bangladeshi daily Dhaka Tribune, a group of angry mob broke into the former cricketer’s house in the southwestern part of Bangladesh, looted and looted it and later set the house on fire.
According to the news, Mashrafe Murtaza is a Member of Assembly from Khaliana constituency and this is also the reason for the attack on his house by the mob.
Apart from Mashrafe Murtaza’s house, the houses of other leaders and members of Awami League, which was recently ousted from power, have also been targeted.

However Mashrafe Murtaza is considered as one of the great captains of the Bangladesh team. He is the most successful captain in the history of Bangladesh till date in the ODI format and under his leadership Bangladesh won 50 out of 88 matches.
Mashrafe Murtaza also has outstanding performance as a bowler. After Shakib-ul-Hasan, he took the most wickets for Bangladesh.
Musharraf Murtaza took 389 wickets in his career in all three formats of cricket. While in his career, 2955 runs were scored by playing six Tests, 220 ODIs and 54 T20 matches.
Musharraf Murtaza was first elected Member of Assembly from Naril-2 constituency in 2019 while he was re-elected from the same seat in 2024.
